Celebration of the 67th Anniversary of Sputnik 1 Launch Held in Dhaka
The 67th anniversary of the launch of the world's first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, was celebrated in Dhaka with a variety of events.
On Saturday, the Russian House in Dhaka announced that from October 24 to 25, it organized a series of events in collaboration with the Legend International School to commemorate the milestone.
The events included an Astronomy Olympiad and quiz, screening of the Russian documentary film “Big Russians: Sevolkovski’s Wind Tunnel,” traditional Russian folk sports competition “Gorodki,” a science and astronomy project competition, a quiz competition, and a seminar on higher education opportunities in the Russian Federation.
Participants were informed about the history of the modern Russian space program and the impact of Sputnik 1 on global advancements in space exploration.
